1st DAY OF SUMMER - WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE COALFACE?

Welcome to summer!  With the election out of the way and the announcement from the reserve bank this week that the interest rate is remaining the same, what are we seeing out there with respect to open homes, auctions and buyer sentiment?

"Patchy" is a word being bandied around by agents at the moment.

Open home attendances do vary.  "Meat and three veg" property (family homes on freehold sites in popular suburbs) are popular with strong attendance at open homes.  Conversely, apartments, units and property that "isn't straightforward" are seeing lower numbers of attendees.

It is in "patchy" markets such as this one, that our vendors are very appreciative of Barfoot & Thompson's extensive (non-franchised) network of agents with personal buyer databases, to maximise the selling price of their homes.

Best for the first weekend of summer!
