20 YEARS SUPPORTING STARSHIP HOSPITAL
During the past two decades, Barfoot & Thompson has contributed $6 million towards our national children's hospital, making it possible for great things to be achieved for Starship's staff, children, and families.
If you, or someone you know, have had a child treated at Starship, you'll intimately understand the benefit of the support we provide that ensures those who need to be there, or have loved ones admitted, receive the best treatment available.
Some of our notable contributions to Starship from the last 20 years include:
An upgrade of equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which supports the hospital's tiniest patients and their whānau.
The Magic of Reading programme, which ensures that every child who stays at Starship receives their own book to take home. Over 230,000 books have been gifted since the program's inception in 2003.
The establishment of Whare Hauora, at two Auckland schools, healthcare units that bring healthcare directly to children in their communities.
Acknowledging Starship staff on International Nurses Day with moments of surprise and delight.
Playing a key role in the creation of Whitinga ora pēpi, New Zealand's first neonatal transitional care unit, which provides care to newborns with high health needs.
Providing Starship ambassadors Keven Mealamu and Anna Harrison, who spend many hours in the wards lifting the spirits of children in hospital.
Our annual quiz night which has become an event that sells out in minutes, and goes on to be a significant fundraiser each year.
It's a partnership we're immensely proud of and truly believe in, and we know that everyone at Barfoot & Thompson is behind it every step of the way.
