CELEBRATING AUCKLAND AND REPRESENTING NEW ZEALAND

Last weekend, Barfoot & Thompson once again hosted the Auckland Marathon as Chief Sponsor.

• $10,500 raised by our people for the Starship Foundation

• 18,000 participants across all distances

• 3,000 registered marathoners, the highest number for more than 10 years

• 51% male and 49% female registered athletes

• The youngest runner was 5 years old, while the oldest was 86 years old

• 62% of participants were first timers to the event

On the other side of the world, this week our own Garth Barfoot was the oldest competitor to cross the line at this year’s New York Marathon at the age of 88.
